This is an overview of the Department of Fundamentals of Religion, one of the modern departments of the Faculty of Sharia Sciences, Tajoura.

Department of Fundamentals of Religion:

Foundation:

      The department was established by the decision of the Minister of Education No. (108) for the year 2020 AD, and the period of study in the department is four years, during which the student studies (54) fifty-four courses, with a total of (120) one hundred and twenty study units.

What is the Department of Fundamentals of Religion? And what are its outputs?

The Fundamentals of Religion section focuses on three Sharia sciences: the main sources of Sharia and the basis of religion, the Book of God, and the Sunnah of His Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and belief.

So the student of Sharia knowledge is directed during the four years to deepen the study of the Book of God, so he studies the sciences of the Qur’an - the principles of interpretation - the methodologies of the interpreters - the interpretation of the Book of God in general - the verses of Sharia rulings in particular, so that the student gains the honor of acquainting himself with an important aspect of the provisions of the Book of God and the sciences related to it, And the honor of his campaign and his statement to the people.

The student also studies in the Department of Fundamentals of Religion the science of hadith knowledge and narration, which is one of the sciences in which there are few specialists in this country, so the focus in this department is on the study of Sunnah sciences, so the student studies the following subjects: the term of hadith - the methods of hadith scholars - graduation and the study of chains of narrators - hadith Analytical - Hadiths of rulings - Various hadiths and their problem. The student will acquire useful knowledge, through which he can distinguish the authentic hadith from the weak and rejected, and he will be honored to defend the Sunnah of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, by clarifying its authenticity from its weaknesses for the general public of Muslims and teaching it.

As for the third science that takes an important aspect of the study, it is the science of faith, the basis of religion and the noblest and noblest of sciences, and its understanding is based on the two sciences that were accepted by the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. In this section, the student studies the following subjects: Creed - Islamic sects - Comparison of religions - An introduction to Islamic philosophy - The origins of advocacy - Orientalism - Contemporary Islamic issues. There is no doubt that the student, through studying these subjects, will come out with great knowledge, which is the understanding of the correct and pure faith according to the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Prophet, and the understanding of the companions, followers and righteous predecessors from the previous imams. Peace and blessings of God be upon him to the general Muslims and non-Muslims, and the ability to repel the likeness of the misguided who try to slander our religion from the extremists and extremists, as well as the likeness of those who confronted the undermining of our religion like the orientalists.

It is known that during this stage the student will also study other subjects - like the rest of the sections - but in a less focused manner, such as the biography of the Prophet, jurisprudence, fundamentals of jurisprudence, history of legislation, grammar and morphology, rhetoric, chips and morals, and educational materials.

Functional areas that may be available to a graduate of the Department of Fundamentals of Religion:

There is no doubt that the first task is to call to God Almighty, and carry the banner of reporting on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the graduate can also work in the following jobs:

Preaching, guidance, advocacy, and work in the General Authority for Endowments and Religious Information, and the Islamic Call Society, as well as teaching in the subject of Islamic education. And working as a researcher in the fields of Sharia sciences, in public and private institutions, such as Sharia advisory committees in financial institutions and others, and Dar Al Iftaa.
